Attic Insualtion
The purpose of attic insulation is to provide a thermal break between your home’s interior temperature and the exterior temperature in the attic space.

The current Ontario Building Code mandates that new homes have attic insulation with an R50 value, which equates to approximately 15” of blown insulation.

What is R Value ? it is a unit of measurement that indicates the ability to resist heat transfer through an object or material.

The majority of the energy loss in your home is to the attic. This air loss occurs by:

1) Conduction - heat escaping directly through solid objects -ie your ceiling and attic insulation
2) Convection - heat escaping via air circulating from one area to another- ie light fixtures etc...

Gaps in insulation, missing insulation, uneven or inadequate insulation will facilitate these types of heat loss in your home.

The process to upgrade your attic insulation is simple and cost effective. The new insulation, loose non toxic cellulose fibre will be pneumatically blown into the attic. The insulation will be evenly distributed to the required depth –resulting in more efficient heating and cooling for your home.

Lower heating costs :: Lower cooling costs :: Improve indoor air temperature balancing
